The centenary conference of the Catholic Historical Society of Ireland, held in NUI Maynooth on 2-3 November 2012, provided the setting for the launch of the current issue of the society's journal. Archivium Hibernicum has appeared since 1912 and continues to publish a broad range of historical records pertaining to the history of catholicism and of religion and society in general. Professor Dáire Keogh, recently elevated president of St Patrick's College/DCU, delivered the oration with verve, wit and great panache. Among the distinguished company were Professor Mary Ann Lyons, head of history in NUI Maynooth. Professor Lyons is patron of the society and her support was crucial to the success of the two-day conference. She and Professor Keogh are pictured with the journal's editor, Thomas O'Connor.
